Alexis a third-year student studying Studio Art (B.A.) and Textiles and Apparel Design (B.S.) with a double minor in Educational Psychology and Entrepreneurship at the University of Texas at Austin. For her professional career, she is aspiring to be an established multidisciplinary artist and fashion designer who is the founder + CEO of her own high-end, culturally-conscious, and inclusive fashion label.

“My interest in the Texas Fashion Industry is contingent on my desire to invest in an exceptional platform that will support both my professional and creative aspirations for building my fashion start-up company, Floral Sea LLC. Floral Sea is a high-end, culturally-conscious fashion label that is redefining the fashion+beauty narrative through showcasing price-, size-, and gender-inclusive collections, empowering all forms of beauty through art and fashion. My brand was launched in response to the lack of diversity of all forms of black beauty and culture in the fashion scene. The representation for all forms of black beauty has always been an afterthought for many fashion brands as they have operated within the parameters of what the world values to be exceptional. Through Floral Sea, I’m committed to utilizing art and fashion as agents to drive social change for all forms of underrepresented beauty.
To achieve my aspirations, I’ve realized that the Texas Fashion Industry will serve as a foundational pathway in fulfilling my goals for my professional and creative career. Essentially, I hope to expand my opportunity in becoming a successful entrepreneur, multidisciplinary artist, and fashion designer through this inspiring platform.”
